THINGS UNSAID
::
Released in 2018 Things Unsaid is a body of work broken down into five chapters. The messages come from a place of cutting vulnerability that vividly illustrates the many facets of humanness. Things Unsaid explores the complexities of mastering self, reconciling identity, and seeking the path of self-love while navigating through systems of oppression and experiences rooted in intergenerational pain and trauma.
RISING
::
Rising a sequel to Things Unsaid was released in 2020. Amaya Sunn’s follow-up book is also an autobiographical collection of poetry that delves into issues of love, justice, and spirituality. Her writing grapples with the intersectionality of her identity as a black woman, a mother, and an immigrant of East African heritage. The work is an honest introspection that calls for us to tap into our power and rise to our highest version.
